You can raise your pet stats by upgrading them with boosts, essences, etc.
The amount of upgrades depends on the rarity of your pet.
Below, there is a list of all pet ranks, stats, and the amount of upgrades they can have.

Through the Store, you can obtain pet upgrade tokens 
that works similar as the upgrade tokens 
used on equipments.
Every attempt has 70% chance of success, and every successful upgrade allows your pet to ignore 15 hitpoints of damage received from any source.
You can have a maximum of 100 upgrades, making your pet able to ignore a total of 1500 damage per hit.
These upgrades transfers automatically to a new pet if you decide to release it.
You can check your pet rarity and his general stats by using the command !petstats
Essences
Essences are the greatest way to upgrade your pet rank without losing any upgrade progress you made so far.
By using them on your character, your existing pet will instantly boost its rank.
Through essences, you will be able to raise your pet to the legendary rank, since there are no legendary eggs available.
They can be obtained through Apu Nahasapeemapetilon NPC.

Boosts
Boosts are permanently added to your pet by using tokens which are rare loot drops from a variety of world bosses.
They can be obtained through Apu Nahasapeemapetilon NPC.
Note that every cost increases as you raise each bonus's value, so plan wisely.
