As your gear gets deprecated through leveling and better set pieces are obtained, the best thing to do is transfer bonuses from one piece to another.
You can do it through the transfer bonus system, but with a few limitations:
You can only transfer bonuses to an item that is not holding any upgrade 
or maker 
.
- You cannot transfer a "brutal 2.5x maker" to an item that already has a "brutal 1.75x maker".
- You cannot transfer a "brutal 2.5x maker" to an item that has a "+1" upgrade.
- You cannot transfer a "+1" upgrade to an item that already has a "brutal 2.5x maker" attached to it.
- You cannot transfer a "+4" upgrade to an item that has a "+1" upgrade.
You can only transfer bonuses of the same slot class.
- This means you cannot transfer bonuses between an "armor" and a "backpack", only from "armor to armor".
- The same applies to weapons: you cannot transfer between a "sword" and a "bow".
For items with a tier, you will need a Class 4 Transfer Token 
to transfer the tier to another item.
To transfer, you must have at least 1 crystal coin 
in your inventory, although this may not be the final transfer price.
